The Role of Cystat and C in Kidney Function Assessment
In pediatrics, cystat and C is actually a pretty darn good marker. The evidence in babies, particularly premature babies, is still not great but there's growing data that it can give us a better sense of GFR. A lot of what we struggle with in AKI research and particularly pediatric AKI research is that we don't really have good markers for the injury before it results in damage.
