Penicillin and Resistance to Antibiotics
Penicillin can inhibit cell walls because it contains a beta-lactam ring. This is where bacteria becomes resistant to the antibiotics. Penicillin came from fungi, which is a microbe in the environment. A lot of antibiotics are actually naturally occurring that are produced from other bacteria or microorganisms.
