The Reversion to Family Privilege in the Neoliberal Era
There's a great book by Melinda Cooper called Family Values that has this account. And it sort of flips the idea of neoliberalism on its head, where you think that in the neoliberal age is characterized by like individualism and your separation from larger systems and structures. But what she argues, I think very persuasively, is that in theoliberal era, it's family relations and family privilege that assume this increased importance.
