If you have the courage of your convictions, it means you're brave enough to do what you feel is right. For example, Charles darwin had the courage of his convictions when nobody else believed in evolution. Another expression is ir to be bold as brass. If someone's bark is worse than their bite, it means that they might get angry but won't do anything dangerous. But we can also use that expression to talk about peop so if there's some one you know who is perhaps very angry, they shout, they get angry easily.
