The Importance of Data Science in Mathematics
California's Board of Education recently approved an overhaul of the state's math framework. That includes a recommendation to delay algebra one until high school like San Francisco has already been doing. A big point of emphasis in the curriculum is that girls and students of color specifically have not really found the traditional math lessons to be reflective of their own experiences.
