The Confusion of Packaging and Workflow

Packaging is now being grouped together with workflow. It's not even packaging in terms of what you upload to PyPI, it's now packaging plus stuff. We're just trying to help you get a wheel file, but everyone's now asking us for everything that leads up into that wheel file. People had to manage their virtual environments. We've not told people how to have task runners like talks and knocks or anything like that. But I will say is there's an active conversation going on right now on discuss the path on it Or about potentially set up a packaging council similar to the steering council.
