The Strange Story of a Nyred

Nyarchus was one of Alexander's generals who went off with him and wrote an apparent text it's not lost to us. He includes a lot of strange stories including this one which it purports to be a nyred but i think it's kind of just a story he picked up in the east where they've kind of just applied the name nyred to it. This is allegedly the origin of the fish eaters from Herodotus as well that um you know these people that are just called fish eaters so we have this very weird exceptional story where just a nyrid is supposedly hanging out on an island.
