meditation isn't some big holy thing, it's merely a technique for ing the awareness from identification with the thought. To do that, you can eitherer, just watch the thoughts coming and going. Or you can pick one thought or one sensation, one set of sensations,. Use those as sort of aa leverage, or centre, what i said yeste, a primary object of meditation. In the process of doing that, all the other thoughts that come up, you keep practising letting them go and bringing the awareness back to the primary object.
