The Fed's Concerns About the US Economy
In July of 2019, Jay Powell told Congress that he was very concerned about the state of the US economy. The yield curve was really flattening out and some parts of it were already inverted. We would expect if Powell back in 2019 was very concerns about recession in the economy, we should be able to tell the difference in the macroeconomic data. If the soft landing is what we see today versus what he was afraid of a hard landing in 2019, that's not what we see in the accounts.
