Why Does This Matter?
In past generations, you could count on our culture having a basic familiarity with the truths of scripture and even with the general knowledge of scripture. But now there we can no longer assume that the culture has any kind of familiarity with the claims of scripture. The battle lines have shifted away from the claims of the book of scripture to the book of nature itself. And so we need to appeal to the creation because it's God's creation and it is loaded with his truth and wisdom.
