The Importance of Having Simplified Rules
Silly rules can't be too expensive. They have to be kind of cheap, which is also why it's like in aware red and, you know, wear your hat with the brim to the left rather than to the right. It doesn't really matter if they don't get followed, as tiy say, from a direct material point of view, but they're giving you lots of information that might matter for something in the future. And i think we've probably got a ton of cognitive architecture that's dedicated to tracking what's happening with those silly rules.
