The History of the Virginia House of Virguses

In 1622, King James revoked the colonial charter he had given to the Virginia company in 1624 and the colony itself became a royal colony. He made this decision because of these raids; they were also having financial problems. And even if the British didn't find everything they were looking for in Virginia, they found something arguably even better than maybe precious metals: tobacco. They did seek to profit from it but not necessarily commodify it.
