At the Achiever Stage, Is It the Golden Rule?
At the achiever stage, we're still so close to the conformist stage that we will try to rationally defend highly irrational cultural practices and say, this is why it's true. That consciousness really comes on the line in a significant way at the over-achieving stage. It's where activism begins for young, idealistic college students. We got to prove that in our perspectives, the golden rule of democracy starts with perspective taking.
