Paternalism - A New Approach to Human Behavior and Choice

Sandros: We are not anti behaviorl economics, only that we want to imbue the field with some humility before half baked policies are sold to the public. In my remarks, i want briefly to a high light how the approach to human behavior and choice edby rizo and whitman, an escaping paternalism, has much in common with that of john stuart mill and philip wicksteed. Jevons was confident that he knew how his subjects should act. He was ready and willing to recommend policies to correct their so called improvidence and immorality.
