The Importance of Sanctions
The end of the cold war enabled sanctions to be imposed in peace time, but relying on a kind of warlike emergency paraty. From a social economic perspective, i think also a now, liberalism enabled new forms of sanctions. Sanctions occupy a middle position between military, subjective violence and structural, or objective forms of violence. But they do so through very, very specific processes that need to be adequately theorized.
