The Importance of Remittances to the Life and Lives of Yemenis
Yemenis have actually been migrating for about three generations by now. The earliest migrants came in the 1960s, and they were agricultural workers. Some of those farm workers or their children started moving to cities in California. They then started working in the service sector as janitors,. primarily, but also later on opening small businesses.
