If you have a bunch of particles floating in space and the only force in the universe is gravity, then it will suck them together into a black hole. But that's the prediction of classical genelativity - an infinitely dense point. The other view is that we don't know what a black hole is, but it can't be that. We can criticize the current theory general relativity for not being consistent with quanto mechanical ideas. It says, something is wrong here, and it's got to be replaced by some other idea: quantum avity.
