There is absolutely no question in humans that a healthy diet will increase your likelihood of living longer and avoiding disease as you get healthy. I don't think there's a one size fits all nutritional strategy because it's clear that's not going to work. Staying at avoiding being obese, certainly, I would actually stay avoiding being overweight. Get your BMI down into what would be called a normal range. Even if it's muscle, that's what I was saying.
