The Battle of Luce and the Battle of Gallipoli

The Battle of Luce saw a big deployment of so-called Kitchener men. So did Gallipoli, which ran through the summer and autumn of 1915. Planners believed that it was time for massive concerted assaults on the Western Front to drive back Germans. 1916 was looked forward to as a year where they could really turn the tide of the First World War.
