The PGA Tour and LIP Golf have struck a deal to combine their resources. But it's far from a done deal at this point, as the details still need to be ironed out. The Department of Justice is looking into whether there are antitrust concerns. Saudi Arabia will likely benefit most if the deal goes through.

The PGA Tour wanted nothing to do with a rival Saudi-funded golf tour, but like Silicon Valley and the White House, it couldn’t resist the Kingdom’s influence. A sports guy (Rick Maese of the Washington Post) and a foreign policy guy (Jonathan Guyer of Vox) explain.
