Is this the same for an intrauterine device? No. There's no increase in risk. Some are non-hormone and release hormones into the uterus to stop implantation of an egg. They don't do anything to the ovaries. The ovaries just tick along as normal. Either of these scenarios, there's no evidence to suggest it's going to affect menopausal symptoms or timing of menopause, etc.
