The Importance of Redeeming Yourself
Like Boromir in Lord of the Rings, seeing his slip and then the moment when he redeems himself is so moving. The idea that I didn't cross a line, I misunderstood the positioning of the lines. A character whose voyage of discovery includes learning horrible things and maybe making the wrong choice about them. Another great literary example of this is Athello, where he starts off as an incredibly good person and is corrupted over time by jealousy.
