The Role of Less Serious Use of Force in Police Shootings
There is a statistically significant 25% or so more likely that the force should have deadly force throwing people against cars, cuffing them using a baton. It could be that these officers are working in high crime areas and as by virtue of their prior experience, they're just more worried about a suspect resisting if he fits a certain profile. But it doesn't necessarily mean that every single one of those are the result of racial animus on the part of the officers engaging in that action. "It matters that police are significantly less likely to use force against anyone of any race or creed today"
