The central question of your book is why are rural women dying so young. What answers did you find? And did you come up with any kind of concrete steps that local and state governments can take to help? I think some of the reasons are that women are expected to carry this burden of caring for their communities at the same time that they're not given a lot of freedom to realize who they are, she says.
