Is Bitcoin Proof of Stake a Proof of Work?

Do you think bitcim will always be proof of work? I mean, obviously they're ging to have some some ways to do settlement outside of the main chain. It seems like touching that or mucking with that too much would really go again, you know, that entire dihard community. But i also think there's a trade off between bicoin and mensobiqin for what it considers the most important thing, which is security through decentralization....
