A cold shower will help you with metabolism. But to get that psychological resilience, you've got to go to a temperature that's going to frighten you. This is why I need ice in my ice bath. If it's not less than 39 degrees, I don't feel that cold shock response. There's some studies on metabolism that show as warm as 60 degrees. You're still getting a great big benefit.
