The Role of the Political Editor of the New Statesman
The job of the political editor is to explain why key players in politics are doing what they're doing. Andrew Ma: I was representing as it were the ideological heart of liberal left politics when speaking to other people from the right. He says he feels privileged to have seen lots of people do the same job all excellently, but in very different ways. The New Statesman is a flexible, fairly non-hierarchical place that you have the freedom to turn the role into whatever you want it to be.
