The Power of Paraphrasing
It's important to know the difference between a Bible translation and a Bible paraphrase. CSB does a very faithful job of kind of both that word for a hybrid and thought for thought of the translation from the original Hebrew in the case of Amos. The message is a paraphrase. It is like so far thought for thought and not word for word. Like part of what is helpful to me as a reader is that it shakes me from the familiarity sometimes.
