I think the issue is that one relationship type doesn't work for everybody. The more taboo you put around violating monogamy, the more exciting it's going to be for some people. Monogamy means life partner. What's sexual fidelity? So not having sex with other partners. I wonder if there is an equivalent type of relationship set up that could be enjoyable to an individual but could be corrosive to them perhaps in the longer term. We don't allow young people to watch porn. For a similar sort of reason, exposing people to sexualized content at a young age isn't necessarily good for them.
