Why You Shouldn't Forgive Student Loans
The ability to pay back your student loan becomes a signal to all of us as to how we should best use society's resources. People don't want to hear this. College just became more expensive. This free thing is going to make college more expensive. And the students won't care because they're not paying it. Why would they care? You want to track the beginning of the expensive time for education? Start with college loans because that's what did it.
