Children love to boast because that's what they hear other people doing. To boast is to talk up something, to talk it up being bigger. We claim to do something or we claim that something belongs to us. When we concede, again, it's about accepting. We accept that we are not going to win. So in the presidential election, when one candidate has more than 50% of the votes, he will concede victory.
