The first layer, first two layers of paint that I put on, go dull because they're going into the paper. When it's watercolour, it wasn't sized. It would soak up watercolour like blotting paper. But when I put two layers of gesso on and I have this, then I have this completely different surface. So there you go, if you have any horrible white left because it's all going to be covered. However, I do love working with inks on watercolour paper and then I would never put gessoon because it works with the paper in a way that I like.
