Putting a dog in an extinction trial can be inhumane, i at very much depends on what's going on. We need to understand it's not the same thing as a punishment procedure,. There are situations in which a punishment procedure is kinder than an extinction trial. And there's always going to be outlier dogs and outlier trainer dog teams that this is not going to be uneasily taught process. But for the vast majority of pretty normal dogs that have pretty normal behavior, expressions of behavior, um, this works very well.
