Reformers don't naturally tend to think of God as being gentle, he says. "We deeply resist and hold at arms, length and stiff arm, the love of God for us at our worst" He asks if there are certain things in a reform tradition or other traditions that would make it harder or less likely to have this understanding of who God is in Christ.
