Climate Change and the Volcanic Eruptions
The most important natural cause of climate change was volcanic eruptions. The ash is the rock particles that fall out quickly but sulfur dioxide gas is put up into the atmosphere and creates a thin cloud of sulfuric acid droplets. Black soot from fires would be heated by the sun, lofted high in the stratosphere which doesn't have any rain to wash it away. 40 years ago I learned about the possible impacts of nuclear war on climate and started using the same models I'd used to study volcanic eruptions to calculate how the soot would change. Back then computers were much smaller, the iPhone in my hand that I'm using right now is a much faster supercomputer than any we
