Sathogua Predates the Seven Geerses

Unlike the other gods we might mention, Sathogua predates The Seven Geerses. And whilst this story marks his first personal appearance, he was first mentioned in Smith's The Tale of Satampra Zeros. In this tale two hyperborean thieves decide to rob a temple and come off a bit worse for wear. They don't encounter the god himself, but they do encounter an idol of him. He will rise not from his place even in the ravening of hunger, but will wait in divine slothfulness for the sacrifice. So what are these lazy haunted toads origins in fiction? Because he is pretty lazy.
