When you think of breakdancing, you think of coolness, hipness, trendiness, and style, but when you combine it with another kind of art that we've all been hearing about recently, pole dancing, you've got something else entirely. It's strange to conceive about breakdancing on a pole! I mean, how creative can people get?

In this episode, we have Dimitry Politov, the World Pole Sport Champion, on the podcast, and we spoke about his life, from breakdancing to breakdancing on a pole! Isn't that ridiculous? To go through the pole, he'll need a startling amount of abilities and tactics. To say the least, the power he must gather to pull off all of those maneuvers, as well as the injuries he may get while doing those stunt-like acts, is mind-boggling. Dimitry also discusses how he learns the abilities to do such movements, how he trains, and how he heals from injuries. All that in this episode.

About Today's Guest

Dimitry Politov is an 8-time World Champion pole dancer, a Cirque du Soleil artist, and online instructor. He has a background in break dancing and parkour, and after seeing a video of German pole acrobat Rémi Martin in 2011, he began training on lampposts, trees, streets signs – pretty much anything that stood vertical.

In 2012, he purchased his first pole to continue his training. That year, he won two championships in Russia (International Pole Sport 2012 in St. Petersburg; Mr. Pole Dance Russia 2012 CFO in Moscow) and took 1st Place at Mr. Pole Dance Russia Final 2013. His 1st Place achievements elsewhere are numerous – ranging from competitions in London, Beijing, and Brisbane.

Dimitry has also made it to the semifinals twice on both Ukraine Got Talent and Russia Got Talent and teaches pole abroad often.
