A lot of these samurai was what they were called touch kaiari Christians. They were returned a Christian born again if we could use that expression. So there is a much more complex identity of what meant to be a Christian or being opposed to this at the time, which I think played a role in the identity of those rebels. It's very much in the interests of the Bhagavu afterwards to say, yes, this was Christian.
