The Importance of Exposure to Foreign Languages
The exposure, I think is something very important because they really had more opportunities to learn English. Even today, even in Japan with exposure and with access, there still is definitely a lot of fear, I think, around speaking. And when you do see a foreign face walk into a restaurant or a store, people will often, you know, you'll see the staff argue with each other about who has to talk to the forerunner.
