Microsoft's Discipline at the Core and Flexibility at the Edge
In the old days when old app and like doing data cubes, the Kimball era. It was such an expensive proposition. And then you look at modern power BI and its ability to extract it so quickly and really easy tool to use. But guess what? Is that extendable? Is it maintainable? All that good stuff. Microsoft right now calls it discipline at the core and flexibility at the edge. That would just be the idea that whether it's a cube or whether it's just a power BI data set that is thought of as that golden data set, so to speak.
