How Can the Bible Be Authoritative?
The Bible is like a five-act Shakespearean play, which he breaks down into the five acts of creation, fall, Israel, Jesus, and the church. A director or actor's job that comes later in the canon is to step into the canon and live based on what has come before and in light of the end goal. This is why so much of the Bible doesn't tell you what to do. It just tells you stories or makes statements about reality. Then you have to act on that with imagination and participation.
