The Cost of a Microcontroller

You can certainly do a custom board with a cheap microcontroller that supports circuit Python and continue to use circuit Python for development. But then you lose some performance in that if you care about that and stuff like that. And so your product is a little bit more expensive. Yeah, you might need a bigger microcontroller than you otherwise would. Which isn't a problem until you start doing like consumer levels of things where pennies matter. Right now we're like, Oh, yeah, if it'll save me an hour, I'll totally spend five bucks. That doesn't make sense when you're building a lot of them.
