The Role of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Gifts of the Holy Spirit, scripturally, are identified precisely as gifts of the Mount. They're supposed to act in accord with this divine instinct and they make us to be a patient of God. But Christ already being divine, that makes me uncertain what the role of the gifts would be. I think there's a lot we could delve into there.
