The Global Average Temperature for the Month of June and July

The record from Monday was about 0.1 degrees Celsius or 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the record from 2022. The average air temperature for this time of year, if we take the period 1979 to 2000, was a whole degree Celsius cooler than what we're seeing now. Because we're dealing in global averages, such large departures from the norm are really, really unusual.
