In 1978, angry in a spate of negative news broadcast by ABC affiliates, synonites bought stock in ABC and attended a stockholders meeting. They read out the names of other ABC stockholders and identified themselves as members of a group called Murder Incorporated. Then they asked the board members if their wives had bodyguards. The group began stockpiling hundreds of firearms. By 1978, they had more than $200,000 in guns.
