The Wolfman's traumatic kernel starts at age four or five, which is way before puberty. One can imagine precocious children who are much more bombarded by these alien signifiers. So they have to group around for understanding earlier. And this is kind of why... Right. They have to learn repression from the social. From the, I mean, social here being the learning sexuality, being developing the sexual intelligence.
