I was so impressed by the original Qbane synthesis because it's like a molecular origami. And at the same time, the product is so simple. I mean, Philip Eaton was convinced that eventually people would figure out a way to make a tetramurization of acetylene to make Qbane. It's pretty remarkable that people have gone on to do a lot of work with Qbane's now.
