i think if you look at any surviving bust of caracala, and there are many of them surviving, he's got his head turned to the side, the short cropped beard, and he appears to be frowning or scowling. He was clearly paranoid, someone who took revenge on anyone who could perceive to have wronged him in any way possible. So we're left with this image of him as as a controlling, paranoid emperor. But at the same time, we can't whitewash caracala. And i think you knows someone who's going to murder his own brother in his mother's breast. That essentially sums up what sort of man we're dealing with here
