Large financial firms, often backed by private equity, buy up and rent out single family homes. The companies typically use computer algorithm to identify desirable property so they can bid quickly. There's about 25 to 35 % of the houses in this neighborhood are owned by wall street landlords. Baby boomers are looking to down size, while millennials and jen exers are looking for smaller, entry level homes.
