When Lyla was a child, she and her siblings would have nightmares all year round. The biggest hot spot was an area right by the edge of the forest where the old dog kennel used to be. My grandfather once told me that watching things like that opened a door and had potential to let things in who otherwise wouldn't have a chance. Most of my family was under the belief that acknowledging things they didn't understand gave power to those things so by not talking about them you would feel safe.
